Louisiana creole cuisine with a gourmet twist.

Our mission is to provide Harlem with high-quality approachable Louisiana Creole Food, use farm-to- table methods and local fisheries, revitalize traditional Thomas family recipes passed down through generations and create dishes using a creative gourmet twist.

The name Lavitta represents practicality, ambition, inspiration, beauty, and discipline. I learned all of these things from my mother Lavitta. Creating this restaurant is my way of paying homage to her.

The food that we serve is made with flavor and high quality in mind, and we don’t cut corners.

About Us

The landmark location that we chose for our restaurant was originally a barber shop in the 1940’s. We converted the space into a fully functional open kitchen. The new  kitchen buildout ensured that staff would be comfortable, efficient in food execution and creative.
